IP Address Lookup

Get geolocation and details for any IP address

IP Address Lookup Reference

Your own IP

Leave the field empty and click Lookup to see your current public IP address, location, ISP, and timezone. Useful for verifying your VPN is connected or checking your geo-location.

Any IPv4 or IPv6

Enter any public IP address to see where it is registered, which ISP owns it, and what region it is associated with. Works for both IPv4 (e.g. 8.8.8.8) and IPv6 addresses.

What the data means

IP geolocation shows the registered location of the IP — typically the ISP's data center or point of presence, not the exact physical location of the device. Accuracy varies by ISP and region.

IPv4 vs IPv6

IPv4 addresses are 32-bit numbers written as four decimal groups separated by dots (e.g. 192.168.1.1), providing about 4.3 billion unique addresses. With the explosion of internet-connected devices, IPv4 space was exhausted. IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses written as eight groups of hexadecimal digits (e.g. 2001:0db8:85a3::8a2e:0370:7334), providing an astronomically large address space — enough for every atom on Earth to have its own address.

Most internet traffic still flows over IPv4 because of NAT (Network Address Translation), which allows multiple devices to share a single public IP address. IPv6 adoption is growing but is not yet universal. This lookup tool supports both formats.
